P0165 means the last oxygen sensor on bank 2 — present only on vehicles with two catalytic converters in series on that side — still produces a signal, but reacts too slowly when the computer runs its periodic response test. Slow response is how oxygen sensors typically age: the sensing element gradually loses its snap until it can no longer track exhaust changes fast enough to pass. That makes this code the most sensor-likely of the sensor 3 family; wiring faults tend to produce stuck or dead signals instead. Contamination from oil or coolant burning, fuel additives, or even certain sealants can accelerate the slowdown.
