What this code means
P2127 is the twin of P2122, but for the other redundant sensor: pedal position sensor E's signal has dropped below its valid range. The accelerator pedal on a drive-by-wire car carries two sensors (D and E on many vehicles) that report your foot's position on slightly different voltage scales so the computer can catch a fault in either one. A low-stuck sensor E usually traces to an open signal wire, a missing reference voltage, a corroded pedal connector, or a worn sensor track inside the pedal assembly. With one of its two pedal readings invalid, the computer typically limits power — sometimes mildly, sometimes to idle-only — until the fault clears. Since both sensors share the pedal's connector and harness, a single wiring problem can set P2122 and P2127 together; both codes at once points strongly at the connector, wiring, or shared reference voltage rather than two sensors failing simultaneously.
