What this code means
The heater inside an oxygen sensor exists to shortcut the warm-up: instead of waiting several minutes for exhaust heat, the sensor is electrically heated to operating temperature within seconds so the computer can start trimming fuel with real data. P0032 sets when the computer detects abnormally high voltage in the heater control circuit of Bank 1, Sensor 1 — the sensor screwed into the exhaust before the catalytic converter, on the same side of the engine as cylinder 1. 'High' points the opposite direction from a 'low' code: think short to battery voltage, or excessive resistance in the circuit such as a corroded terminal that won't let current flow properly.
