P0645 flags a fault in the circuit the engine computer uses to switch the A/C compressor clutch relay — the electrical path that turns your air conditioning compressor on and off. It's a comfort-system code, not an engine-health problem: the engine runs normally, but the A/C may not engage. Typical causes are the relay itself, a blown fuse, a corroded connector, or a break in the control wiring; a failed compressor clutch coil can also upset the circuit. One caveat worth knowing: many systems refuse to engage the clutch when refrigerant is low, so this code sometimes rides along with an unrelated A/C problem.
